100 Things About Me
I first saw this on Tammy's blog and I told her I would do it. Sorry it took me so long.
This was not easy for me to do, but I hope you all enjoy it. :)
100 Things About Me
1. I love having my music up loud when I'm in the car by myself. I would never do it with anyone else in the car.
2. I have always enjoyed watching Star Trek.
3. I have two children that I could not live without.
4. When I was pregnant with said children, I was sick everyday of my pregnancy.
5. With my oldest, I was sick clear up until the month after she was born. Go figure.
6. I was with some friends and we were wanting to watch a movie. One friend wanted to watch a movie I was not comfortable with and even though we argued about it, I wouldn't let up and we ended up watching something else. Another guy in the group saw this and asked me out on my first date.
7. The above guy turned out to be a pain in later years.
8. I had more fun at my junior prom than my senior prom.
9. I asked someone to senior prom and even paid for everything because I really wanted to go.
10. The guy I took to senior prom turned out to be very self-centered and complimented himself all night. I went home crying.
11. Two other dates I went on for school dances, both guys would not dance with me. One even danced with another girl but not me. (I sure know how to pick em'!)
12. My husband always dances with me and is not self-centered.
13. I played basketball from grade 6 through 8 and then when I was in 10th grade.
14. I've always wanted to play basketball on a college team but I don't think I'm good enough and I definitely don't have the body for it right now! LOL
15. I'm the 7th child of 8 and the oldest of 2 girls.
16. When dh and I were dating, he caught pneumonia and had it for a week. During that week I took his mom out for lunch and we went "ring shopping." :D
17. While my husband, er boyfriend at the time, was sick he wouldn't eat much of anything. I came over and *made* him eat toast. He has never let me live that down.
18. I love playing games.
19. I love to jet-ski.
20. I was head drum major in 9th grade and had to walk backwards for a whole parade.
21. I like having my toenails painted.
22. I'm 5'10 1/2.
23. I was taller than all my teachers and classmates until the 7th grade.
24. I was so tall in first grade, almost 5', that my teacher thought I was in the wrong class.
25. I would love to have a horse ranch.
26. I love taking bubble baths when I get the chance.

28. We think my family was surprised I got married before they all did.
29. I enjoy playing sports; tennis, basketball, and volleyball being my favorites.
30. I've always wanted to visit Ireland.
31. When I was in 9th grade, I had one of my essays chosen to be displayed in Boise's state capitol building.
32. My teacher that asked us to write the essay took me aside after class and felt it important to tell me that she did not choose my essay but the principal did, which made me feel a little bad.
33. My favorite comics are Garfield, The Family Circle, and Baby Blues.
34. I've always wanted to be a runner.
35. I was part of the first class that attended the new BYU-Idaho.
36. I worked as an early morning janitor while in school.

38. In 3rd grade I placed 3rd in a spelling bee.
39. Also in 3rd grade, my class won enough points that allowed us to sleep over at the school. In the morning our principal made us pancakes.
40. After seeing a childbirth movie in 11th grade, I swore I'd never have children and that I would only adopt.
41. In grade school, we had an all school assembly in the gym because there was some important person there. The PE teacher was told to pick one person to come down on the basketball court and play tennis with this person. He choose me out of the whole school. I felt honored.

55. We drive a Honda Odyssey and love it!

60. I like most kinds of music, except rap.
61. I can play the clarinet and a little piano.
62. I feel bad for in adamant objects. For example, my daughter has a doll that you can put in a bag. I leave the bag unzipped part way so the doll can "breathe." I'm silly like that.
63. I prefer chocolate chip cookie dough over actually baking the cookies.
64. I won't wear a shirt more than once if I can help it.
65. One of my oldest's first 5 words was chocolate.

Rabbits, Classes, Work Oh My!

1st Topic: We've been infested with rabbits. They're everywhere. All over the floors, on the beds, in all the rooms. My oldest has the amazing talent to grab them quickly. She's so funny, "look Mommy, I have two rabbits!" Followed with "one got away! I go get it!" I love how she's starting to play pretend, it's adorable. Everyday we catch rabbits and hold them and hug them and rub their backs. Who needs the real thing when you can have pretend rabbits? :D
2nd Topic: I've decided to drop one class from my school schedule. I feel better already, it's been a huge relief.
3rd Topic: The main reason I dropped a class was because my husband's job extended him again and he will be gone for 3-4 months. I'm sure we'll have enough stress during that time, so I didn't want overkill with my homework.
Us in a nutshell. Have a great day.

Muwhahaha!

[8:06am. My name is Snoop-Ninja-Dog. The day was Wednesday. Philosophy 101 the subject. A podium was my dilemma.]
Little did I know going to class would turn into me taking on a mission. I sat, pondering the meaning of life as my teacher briskly walked into class apologizing for his tardiness.
He stopped. There no podium. He declares that perhaps he can't lecture with out it. What would he do???
We laugh. He laughs. Then he says those magic words.
"I need someone to go on a mission."
My ears perked right up but I said nothing. My teacher was in search of a willing subject to find him a podium. I still said nothing. I couldn't give away my super power of podium searching, they couldn't make me! But then it happened. He looked right at me and with an accent asked me to find one.
Oh I was clever, they would never know my true identity. "Sure, I'll get right on that," I casually stated. Success! They were oblivious to my super power! Their laughter was a dead give away.
My true identity I kept hidden until I left the classroom and watched as the door very snail like closed behind me. Then came my transformation.
Snoop-Ninja-Dog to the rescue! My eyes in a squint and one hand in my pocket, my costume was ready!
I knew I was being watched so I drew a breath and took a step to the left. I abruptly stopped. THEY KNEW I would go that way. I took a step back, then eight more, straight forward. I see it, a classroom just ahead. It was calling to me. The room was dark. Perfect!
But wait, I could hear her. She was watching me. "The Secretary." I'd show her, I clasped my hand around the handle and leaped inside. She couldn't blink before she realized I was gone.
I had made it! The darkened room was mine. I swiftly made my way to the front of the room, my cape-like-jacket flowing behind me. THERE! I found the artifact!
Oh no, it was booby trapped! My foot catches the end of the table leg and I fall, podium on top of me. I should have known! Oh I must have looked so foolish!
But I wasn't going to let that deter me from my goal. I was going to get my teacher his podium, even if I only had four toes.
I stood up, podium in hand. An immediate sense of accomplishment. Oh the rejoicing that would take place as I returned with my reward!
But lo, my mission was not finished. She would be out there as I was leaving. She might have her spies trying to take this treasure away from me! So I did the first thing most natural.
I opened the door to exit, podium on my hip. HA! How would she know this wasn't my child and that I didn't come to class with it! HA! HA! HA! I felt a glare as I paced the eight steps back to class, but she had nothing against me. Success!
There were my fellow classmates and teacher in a standing ovation as I returned. My eyes in a normal gaze and my hand out of my pocket, my costume was neatly tucked away. Once again, I had saved the day.
You never know when you're needed. It's not easy finding a podium. But I did it. I saved the day.
[8:08am. Podium reinstated. Lecture resumes.]

It has been a good day

I'd been having a rough week but I think things are starting to look up. Today is my birthday and at first, felt like just another day. I received well wishes from many friends and even had a wonderful unexpected phone call. My husband, whom I thought had planned nothing for my birthday, had taken the day off and surprised me by coming home with gifts, cheesecake, and beautiful flowers. It's made me realize, that even when you're feeling low, things can always get better and usually do. Happy birthday to me. :)

It's the little things

Heavenly Father truly loves His children. We have been blessed many times as have many of you who are reading this right now. I'd like to share one experience with you.
Today, we did not make it to church as we all have been feeling under the weather. When it came time for us to prepare dinner, we didn't know what we wanted. My husband asked if it was something easy to which I jokingly replied "well sure, just let me order some pizza." I've felt kind of bad about this topic lately, because we've really been craving pizza but right now that's a luxury for us.
Not even ten minutes after this discussion we had a knock on our door. It was our neighbor, also a fellow ward member, said he had heard we were sick and asked if we'd like some pizza they had but couldn't finish. We were of course surprised and touched by his kindness. I knew right away that this was a blessing from Heavenly Father. We have never prayed for pizza but it made me realize yet again, that He does remember us, even when it comes to the little things. I think that's amazing.

First week of school

I made it through the first week of school! Yay! I've been wondering if I've maybe taken on too much, but I'll keep trying. My husband has been very supportive. Everyday I come home from class and I see that my husband has cleaned the house, done the dishes, taken care of the garbage, kept the girls happy, and even has lunch ready for me! I asked him why he's been so helpful and he said he loves me and wants to alleviate as much stress as he can. Awww! I was touched by his kindness. I am blessed to be married to such a wonderful man. You know, with that kind of support from your spouse, you feel you can do anything! So to my hard classes "BRING IT ON!" lol :)

A favor

Some of you may have noticed that I have changed the title of my blog. I wanted something much less tacky. (Although it's still in my url lol). So for those of you who have kindly put links in your own blogs to my blog, would you terribly mind changing the name of my blog please? I'd appreciate it. Thank you. :)

We Are Marshall

I spouse-nabbed my husband this past weekend and we went to see the movie "We Are Marshall." I would highly recommend this to everyone. This film was phenomenal and inspiring. One minute you're crying and the next you're cheering. The use of swear words was the only downside. It was just outstanding. We loved it. Go nab you're spouse/friend and enjoy the movie together.

What shall I do...

If you haven't already, pop on over to Kara's blog and see all the snifty changes she's made. I look at her blog and others and I think to myself "wow, their blog looks really nice. Mine looks so...dorky." I don't have a cute title or cute colors. I think it's time for my blog to have a major overhaul. I think it would fun to have my own personalized blog. I should have the time in about, oh, 4 months or so. lol In the mean time I'll ponder this subject while enjoying everyone else's blogs. :)
*Note: I had deja vu while typing this post. Maybe that's a sign.....*

Almost time - simplified

School starts Monday. School starts Monday. Everyone say it with me, "school starts Monday." I can't believe school starts Monday. Didn't I just start my break? That's what it feels like. Time flies when you don't have homework I guess.
In many ways I am looking forward to going back. After this semester I will have most of the pre requisites for my major taken care of. Yay! I also enjoy adult conversation which I don't indulge in too often. It's a wonderful feeling to have a brain that doesn't feel like mush!
I'll still try to get to everyone's blogs. If I don't, know you're still loved!

Ick

See, now this is how you ring in the new year. It takes almost three hours to put your oldest child to bed, you're sick to your stomach, your husband is sick to his stomach, and the baby continues to throw up all over you, the floor, the chair, her jammies, and her bed. Doesn't this sound just lovely? I know you're so jealous. I think my New Year's resolution is to not get sick for next New Year's Eve.
