What am I thinking?

Well let me tell you. Beth asked about why I have a piece titled "Smoo's Desserts" on my blog. First you should know where the name "Smoo" came from and who is to blame. This is what happens when you get with friends like Mimo & Gina and stay up late talking, you get nicknames like "Smoo." If you check out another blog I go to, W.O.G.G., it's all about the show Gilmore Girls. Well on there was a link to take a test to see who you were most like on the show, I was most like Sookie (although I'm not a great cook lol). Apparently when you combine late night chatting, laughter, my name, and Sookie, lo and behold you get = Smoo.

As for the desserts part, I was trying to think of something snifty for little blurbs on my blog. Since I've started doing those PPP, I need to have posts in between each advertisement, I know it's kind of a pain to scroll through them but I like making money. :) Anyway, I wanted to do something similar to Kara's "just a little note" but something unique to my blog. Considering I enjoy desserts often every now and then, I thought that would be most fitting for those little blurbs. I want them to be fun and who says desserts aren't fun??

So there you have it. Yes, it may be rather strange, but that's all I could come up with. lol I'm welcome to suggestions if you hate it. :D

Eye appointment

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I feel like I should stop going to doctors, they always seem to find something wrong with me as of late. It is a good thing, better to catch any problems early right? Well today I went to the eye doctor to make sure my eyes were just ducky for more contacts. Our insurance covers us for every two years to get an eye exam but despite it being awhile since I'd been, I didn't think there would be any problems.

But I knew there was as soon as my dr started saying things like "oh my" and "oh dear" and "oh my word." I felt all warm and fuzzy let me tell you. Well apparently the contacts I have been wearing were smothering my eyes and weren't allowing enough oxygen in. My eyes have been really irratated lately and it's made it harder to see, now I know why. I have 12 ulcers in my right eye. *cry* They aren't infected yet so he put me on some antibiotics to clear them up. He said they were little scratches all over my eye. I didn't even know contacts could do that.

Well on top of this lovely news he tells me my astigmatism is back in my right eye and it's the oblique kind, which is one of the bad ones. Now I have to have a special kind of contacts. I went from under $20 a box to $50-$60 a box. Luckily he said there was a rebate of $100 if I order a 6 month supply, which is fabulous news, so I actually only pay about $30. So I did have some good news, yay!

Big Money Opportunities! - PPP

This is a PayPerPost Advertisement

Every where you go there are new and exciting great money making opportunities. You’ve probably already seen them and I am here to tell you about one more that I know is worth it. Especially if you have a blog where you get a lot people stopping by, you’re going to want to join blog ad network. You could make $1000 for one post by a sponsor. Does that not sound wonderful? It gets even better!
If you have considered going with ReviewMe, did you know they have 100% markup service fees? What is the point of even joining if you make money and then they take most of it away from you? No one wants to work for someone who does that. With PPP, their service fee is only 35%.
(Know also that disclosure is required from all bloggers.
That’s quite the deal and you should take advantage of it. They know you will not work for pennies so they give you the money you deserve. Whether you get a lot of people viewing your blog or not many at all, you should still jump on board with PPP. They will not forget the little guys and they really do want you to make money.

Tuesdays

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

You know how a lot of people usually don't like Mondays? Well this semester I don't like Tuesdays! I'm in class for 4 1/2 hours, all Biology. My brain gets all mushy after being in class so long. But at least I stayed awake for the most part. lol

I really enjoy the weekends and I look forward to them. My mom once told me that if you always look forward to the weekend, you miss 5 days out of the week which I think is great insight. So try to enjoy everyday and don't miss today! :D

SMART Habit Saturday

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I'm jumping on the bandwagon of SMART Habit Saturdays by The Lazy Organizer. I know if I write my goals down, I'll be able to remember them better. So here we go.

My biggest problem of late is spending money before we get it. I know, it's horrible. I know by the time the money comes in, it will be the same time the money I spent will clear. It's an awful habit! I did really well for a few months but now I'm back into a slump. This week though, I'm not going to spend money on anything if we don't have the money actually in our account.

I also want to work on exercising more. Right now, all I mostly do is walk and I want to add more variety. So my goal is to add another type of exercise and do it twice a week. I ultimately want to surprise my husband, who after being gone for a few months, will come back and see a new wife! Well, the same wife, just looking better. lol

So my goals:
#1 - don't spend money before it gets into my account
#2 - add a new type of exercise to my routine and do it twice a week

Let's think about the potty shall we?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

My oldest is very close to really wanting to be potty trained. Being the loving parent I am, I have gone in search of movies about going "potty" in hopes of sparking even more desire in my child. Oh my, the things I have found.

My latest find was a movie I picked up at the library called Once Upon A Potty. Success! My child loves it! But, I can't help myself from laughing at it. They talk about the body parts and what exactly comes out each end. That's fine by me, after all a child should know. Well, I was busy doing something else and I just happened to glance up during this discussion and I see the little cartoon girl bending over with her head between her knees, bum facing the TV screen and they were talking about the hole where the "poo-poo" comes out. Oh. My. Word.

I was very surprised at first then I had to laugh. I would have never thought to do that for a movie about going potty. Anyway, the movie continues and I continue to glance up every so often. Every time they said the words "wee-wee" and "poo-poo" I had to laugh. Do people actually say "wee-wee"? Maybe I missed the boat on that one. Well, the next time I glance up the little girl had gone "wee-wee" and "poo-poo" (sorry, the words just crack me up lol) on the floor by her potty. Needless to say, pudding has now been ruined for me here on out because that's what her "poo-poo" looked like.

*Sigh* If it helps my child, it's all worth it. She also loves the Bear in the Big Blue House potty movie, but I won't get started on that one. ;) Hopefully no one was eating while reading this.

B-A-N-A-N-A-S! It's bananas!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I'm really picky when it comes to my bananas. First, they can't be all mushy, that's just gross. The outside can have a few dark spots but not a lot for me to want to eat it. I peel it starting from the top, unless I'm in a monkey mood and I will start from the bottom. While I'm peeling, I have to peel off all the little stringy parts of my banana because they give me the creeps if I eat them. If there are lightly bruised areas, I cut them off with a knife. If a part is really bruised, I'll throw it away. Then I break off my banana, just above the bottom because that's icky too, and then I devour. My whole process may seem a bit anal, but at least I eat them right? LOL

So, how do you peel a banana?

Also, I just received a sweet blog award from Kate! Thank you so much! My first blog award, yippee! It's off to the side so you all can admire it. ;)

Traditional Saturday

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

My family and I always look forward to Saturdays. One aspect we love about our Saturdays is in the mornings, we enjoy watching Qubo together. Finally some fun, g-rated cartoons have come to TV! If you have children and you enjoy watching good TV, Qubo is the place. It's on NBC at 8am here, I can't wait. We have a yummy breakfast together then watch Qubo. You may think spending time in front of the TV is a waste of time, but we love it. We all play and dance and laugh and tickle each other all during the shows. It's fun stuff. If you watch it, think of me. :D

Thoughtful Thursday

(You need to scroll down to the bottom of my blog to turn my music off to watch the video)

Maybe this is what I need to eat healthier. I mean seriously, it's Cookie Monster. He eats cookies. He loves cookies, but he also eats and raps about healthy food. My perfect role model. For eating better, not rapping. Now if only he could rap about eating healthy foods and send me a treadmill, I'd bet set!

That's my thought for the day. Enjoy. Eat healthier. Be happy. Drive safe. Nod and smile. Sleep on your side. Dream about bunnies.

Well now

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Being a parent, at times, can be very difficult. Very routine. Very tiring. Phrases like "no you may not eat a block of cheese today." Or "for the love, can't you pick another movie!" My favorite "no you may not drive the car at two years old!"

Another aspect that is difficult, is when it comes to making decisions. Is my child's fever too high? Has she/he had too much sugar today? But one thing that I'm sure of, is how to check a baby's diaper. Do people actually do this in the above picture? Maybe that's why some parent's pack a lot of wipes. Some for their kids, some for them. I may never shake a parent's hand again!

Maybe I missed something

I'm relatively new to blogging but somethings I just don't understand. Here are a few:

1. It's common courtesy if someone posts on your blog that you post on theirs right? I think it's a fun way to meet new people and find other fun blogs to read. But hey, maybe it's just me.

2. People don't post your comments? I know a lot of bloggers have enabled comment moderation to keep out the yucky people, I'm just fine with that. But I'm not a yucky person! It's kind of like a jab in the ribs when you comment (something nice I might add!) but it never gets posted. Sure, some people have tons of comments to post so maybe they overlook a few. But you get the hint after repeated comments are made but none are posted. But hey, maybe it's just me.

3. Is responding to comments important? I try to respond to everyone who comments on my blog. I want them to know that I appreciated them stopping by, I want them to be "validated" in a way. So I wonder why other people dont and I think well, they are probably busy. Really I don't mind if every comment I make doesn't get a response, that's not what bothers me. It's just when I post and post and post and get nothing. Makes me wonder if they even want me to comment on their blog. But hey, maybe it's just me.

I don't know, I shouldn't be caught up in the whole "blogging" thing. But that's why people blog right? To receive comments from people who think that what they are saying is something worthwhile? It could just be me. Today I have zero chocolate in my house, maybe that's why I'm grumpy. lol

I did not create this post to annoy or upset anyone or even to make you feel bad. It's just some thoughts that have been in my head. :)

Added: This does not apply to my reglular blogging friends. :D
