Kauai Vacation Packages - PPP

This is a PPP Advertisement

Press Release:

KAUAI, HI--(MARKET WIRE)--Feb 19, 2007 -- Recommendations by the 9/11 Commission have led to a new law that requires US citizens returning to the country by air to show a passport. As of 2006, only a quarter of the American public actually held a passport. Hawaiian Beach Rentals recently conducted an informal survey that projected a marked increase in domestic travel as a result of the new passport legislation.

In accordance with the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004, the passport requirement is a part of the states' and Homeland Security's Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative. Charles Koehl of Hawaiian Beach Rentals states, "Our staff recently conducted an informal survey of our customers. In light of the new passport regulations, more than half the customers questioned intend to make domestic travel arrangements as opposed to scheduling international travel. In fact, one of our customers who's spent her life traveling the south pacific told us that as long as her favorite Kauai condo is available, there's really no need to leave the US."

As early as January 1, 2008, the Department of Homeland Security expects to have similar passport requirements that apply to sea travel. Traveling to domestic destinations such as an all-inclusive Kauai vacation package will allow tourists to plan exotic, luxurious, and hassle-free vacations by air or sea without having to obtain a passport.

Mr. Koehl further says, "American travelers now find it easier to come to Hawaii than other international destinations, but still want a customized experience that only local people can help coordinate. Hawaiian Beach Rentals offers accommodations such as Kauai vacation rental homes, condos and hotels, as well as airfare and car rentals to customers wanting to travel to Hawaii. Our services include up to date local information about Hawaii and the ability for customers to quickly and easily pay for their vacation online via a secure payment process." Additional information and incredible color photos of domestic travel destinations in Hawaii are available online at Hawaiian Beach Rentals.

My husband and I have not thought much about traveling outside of the United States, but we have always wanted to go to Hawaii. We have had family members go and they never have a bad thing to say about it. We want to experience everything Hawaii has to offer, from the beauty to the culture. Now with the new passport requirements for international travel, going to Hawaii sounds even better. We don’t have the extra worry about spending even more money on passports for us and our children.

At http://www.hawaiianbeachrentals.com/ you can plan that dream vacation you have always wanted to go on and save money at the same time. Make sure to check out the kauai vacation packages for even more great deals. You can choose from vacation rentals, condos, or hotels in Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and on the Big Island. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the cost of a studio hotel roomwas only $99, which is pretty much what I pay for a regular hotel room here in Idaho but without all the added bonuses that Hawaii offers. Hawaiianbeachrentals.com proves that you can vacation in Hawaii on any budget. Vacation rentals, information, luxury rentals, real estate or whatever it is you’re looking for, you will find it there. Remember, you can get all of this without having to leave the country!

I need some new marbles

I don't know why, but it seems like all of my brain cells have jumped ship. This past weekend proved it. Here are four examples:

#1 - Kara made the oh so divine Oh Henry Bars on Friday. She was kind enough to give me half of her pan. She put it on a plate and wrapped it up for me. Well, as I was putting my kids in the car I put the plate on top of my van. You guessed it, I forgot to put them in with me before we left. I realized this 3/4 of the way home. I started to drive really slow (not that I was driving like a NASCAR driver) in hopes maybe they were still on top. But no. *cry* At home I walked around to the back of my van thinking maybe they were stuck to the bumper and I could peel them off and eat them later. At that point, I would have been happy if there was chocolate smeared on the back window I could eat. But no. *cry* I was so upset and sad that I had lost all my yummy Oh Henry Bars. Kara was so sweet when I called her to tell her, she's such a good friend. She laughed at me.

#2 - Just after realizing I may have lost my Oh Henry Bars, I realized I completely forgot about a VT appointment I had missed the day before. I could have really kicked myself at this point because I remembered a few hours before the said appointment, but I had just received my new do and apparently the euphoria of that made me neglect everything else.

#3 - We went to my SIL's wedding yesterday and we were about to sign the guest book. I leaned over to my husband and asked "which words of wisdom should we put down?" His response (with a smile) "well, there's the no drinking alcohol, no tobacco....pick one." Duh Michelle.

#4 - At the park with Gina and her daughter, after we had played on the toys and the slide, I wanted my kids to go on the swings. So I asked Gina and her daughter if they were "swingers."

See, I have zero, zippo brain cells left. It's surprising I leave the house anymore. LOL

Manbrows-be-gone

"My mission, is to explore strange new territories. To seek out new hairstyles and to remove unwanted hair. To boldly go where most women have gone before!" Or something to that effect. lol But I did it, today was my first time. I have finally ventured into the frontier of having my eyebrows waxed. My manbrows are no more!! For those that never taken this journey, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It feels the same way as if you had pulled a band aid off your arm and had some hair pulled out at the same time. It was well worth the $5 I spent. It's so much easier than using tweezers. I know it's kind of silly, but I feel more like a girl with small cute eyebrows. lol

I also had my hair cut, added bangs and layers, and had it thinned. Overall, I'm really happy with how everything turned out. The lady that did it is in my ward and she was fantastic. Other than the area around my eyebrows still being a little red, I feel pretty darn cute. :D

Gina, this was done all for you by the way. I didn't want to scare you away from my manbrows, so now hopefully you won't go screaming and running the other direction when we get together. lol Ok, maybe part of it is because we're getting together. ;) I also have a wedding to go to Saturday and I want to surprise my husband when he comes home tomorrow. It has made my day. :D

SMART Habit Saturday!

I didn't do as well as I was planning on this last week. Have you noticed that when you get so busy with everyday life that everything else tends not to get as much attention? I guess that why I keep going, to make these habits so that they become part of my everyday life. This week I'm really going to focus on my exercising, I didn't do a darn thing last week. :( But everything else I'm doing pretty well on. Even though my husband has been gone, I've been doing really well being patient and understanding with my kids. I'm proud about that. :D

#1 - Spending money before it gets into my account

A. Enter receipts same day

#2 - Exercise twice

A. Exercise before watching TV & getting on computer

#3 - More patient/understanding

Day at the circus

The circus came to our city today so I decided to take the girls. Kids 12 and under were free but adult tickets were $20! I had a $2 off coupon but still. I guess that's why kids get in for free, because the adults pay for them through their ticket! lol The girls loved it though so it made it all worth it.

I was surprised by some of the acts. A clown came out and repeatedly threw an egg up in the air and caught it with his hands. He did this over and over and that was his act. I didn't think it was that funny. I could have thrown and egg up and caught it, for free. lol

Another act was two sumo wrestlers dancing to a song by the Backstreet Boys. It was kind of funny until one of the wrestlers started to do a pole dance. A POLE DANCE. It was a few minutes before he was stopped and told that it was a family event. This bugs me, if it was a family event why even put it in there in the first place? It wasn't funny, not to me.

More clowns came out for a different act, a cooking one. At one point they were trying to season a chicken but kept getting flour everywhere. Then one of the clowns started to pass gas, *flour gas.* Seriously, is this funny to anyone else? I think it's sad that these types of things are so prevalent in our society and people think it's funny. Maybe it's just me.

There were a lot of fun things to watch. The girls loved the elephants and the horses. They clapped right along with everyone else which was really cute. I bought them a huge balloon and they were pretty happy. It was mostly fun, I'm glad we went. :)

Prayer To The Omnipotent - PPP

This is a PPP Advertisement

I have just read a poem titled Prayer To The Omnipotent FSM. I had to read it more than once to try to better understand it. It’s talking about the omnipotent FSM, which is the Flying Spaghetti Monster. The poem is rather humorous as in the sentence “further, when tomorrow comes then I wish to be me you see and not to be a bowl of daffodils (or even of ramen).” But at the same time more serious, especially towards the end. Read it for yourself and see what you think.

Good things come to those who wait!

We have yet to have enough money to splurge on nice furniture. So far, everything has been given to us. My husband bought me a rocker/recliner for Easter when we were first married but that was it as far as furniture went. We did recently end up buying a futon for a couch because we were tired of sitting in camping chairs. lol

We'd go to furniture stores and sit on all the couches we liked and dream about the day we would have something soft to sit on. Once we came close to buying a love seat but didn't go through with it. We've known it would be hard to afford things like nice furniture where we are just starting out so we've learned to manage. My brother recently gave us a big recliner so our furniture consisted of a futon and two recliners. Go us! LOL

But now I can officially say we have furniture! By miracle really and some luck, my husband won a couch and a love seat from his job. The employees that came up here from Mexico to be trained had a furnished apartment and my husband's work, did an auction for all the furnishings. We won one of the couches and love seats and I paid $5 for them! SCORE! They are tan and micro-suede. They were brand new when they were first bought but aren't in the best condition now. They have been vacuumed but still need cleaning. They really aren't that bad, I'm glad we finally have something soft to sit on!

Moral: Good things do indeed come to those who wait.

Disclaimer: No, I don't think we all should sit around and wait for things to fall into our laps. lol We could have purchased furniture before, but we would have been in debt for them. It's always better to wait then go into debt IMO.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Seriously, we have snow. It's great snowman snow, but it's snow! We had a beautiful day yesterday, so warm and sunny. Today we have snow, almost an inch. We do need all the water we can get so I'm trying to be positive about it. Gives me a good reason to go have some yummy hot chocolate! :D So how's the weather where you are?

I do not like having to take more than one vitamin. Why can’t they just make one vitamin that has almost everything? Well, the good news is they have. It’s called the 12-in-One MultiVitamin. This is a soft-gel vitamin, not one of those hard as rock vitamins and it has more than 117 nutrients, 72 trace minerals, and 47 fruit and vegetable concentrates. It really is all in one and you can start a risk free trial right now!

The latest

If you read my previous post you'll know that we went to the allergist, again. We've been trying to figure out what in the mint Oreo blizzards from DQ our youngest is allergic to. She broke out twice after eating them. Today we found out it's the mint. The Dr didn't have a highly concentrated mint to test with but it was still positive. So no mint for her. It's better than peanuts IMO. :) I'm glad we finally know what it is.

Something interesting though. Her first allergy test, the Dr said she tested positive for being allergic to eggs. Well that particular day her eczema was really bad and to us it looked more like eczema than a positive reaction to egg. But we went along with the Dr although we didn't really agree. We stayed away from eggs for a month and she was fine. But deep down, I just felt like she really wasn't allergic to eggs. So we very slowly tested our theory and she never broke out. I asked the Dr about it and he said you can have a positive skin test but not have a reaction.

I thought that was different, but again I went along with him. I still wasn't sure and today when she was tested for the mint, I asked to have the egg tested again also. The Dr was puzzled about why and he tried again to explain that it was indeed a positive test the first time. But I still had this gut feeling. He retested and low and behold it was negative. He didn't say anything about it.

Moral: ALWAYS trust your instincts and don't feel bad for having a different opinion than a Dr.

Gamma Knife Surgery - PPP

This is a PPP Advertisement

I have not heard about Gamma Knife surgery until today. The thought of having surgery on my brain isn’t that appealing but if I ever needed it to be done, I would want the best technology and surgeon doing it. The Gamma Knife is used for brain tumors and it sounds like it’s very effective. Its design focuses all the radiation on the particular spot and shields the rest of the body. A head frame is attached to the patient to keep them immobilized and only one MRI is taken as opposed to many X-rays that need to be taken with other machines. On the go

We have been going nonstop today. I went to bed after midnight and was up just before 7am. We were out the door by 7:20, I dropped the girls off to a friend's house and I was in class by 7:58. Ran to the library, picked up the girls, and came home by 10:30. A friend was going to come over so we tried to hurry and clean and I put the girls down for a nap. Now I'm headed out to a study group then my youngest has a Dr appointment with the allergist. (Hopefully we'll finally know what she is allergic to.) Then we have to go to my husband's work and take a gander at a couch and love seat set we won to see if they are really worth it. We also won another computer which we will give to my mom. Then back home to babysit and if we can, I want to try and squeeze in time to go out and play. Tomorrow I have a huge Biology test so that's what I'll be doing the rest of the night. Us in a duck pond. Have a great day everyone!

I didn’t before today and he has a great website at Belisi. One of my favorite designs of his are the Lori’s Shoes, which I think are a great buy for how cute they are and for being 100% Italian. SMART Habit Saturday

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I don't have much time to be on today, so here are my goals and next to them is how I've been doing:

#1 - Don't spend money before it gets into my account - I didn't do awful this past week but not great either. This week I'm really going to focus on this one.

A. Enter receipts in the same day the transactions take place - I started out really well but then we've been so busy that this got overlooked. But I did make sure to enter them in within 2 days of us purchasing something.

#2 - Do a different exercise twice, for at least 20 minutes - I've done a serious amount of walking recently but nothing more than that. I'm going to add a new goal for this week:

A. Exercise (i.e. push ups, crunches, stretches) while watching TV and before getting on the computer.

#3 - Be more patient and understanding - I'm doing so much better with this one. It's been hard because my two year old has been acting like a two year old and the baby is starting to act just like her. But I endeavor to keep doing better.

Not a lot of time

We have had a wonderful day! It's been long and tiring, but a lot of fun. It started early this morning, about 1am. The girls have been sick with fevers over 102 and were up most of the night. (Ok, that part wasn't exactly fun.) I got up just after 7 and tried to make it to my 8am class. The girls were pretty grumpy bless their little hearts, but I did manage to get out the door.

8am philosophy can be hard to swallow but I managed to stay awake through most of it. ;) I think my teacher forgot to button up his shirt all the way, about 4 buttons were undone so we could see all his gray chest hairs. It was not amusing. (Of course now it kind of is lol.) Anyway, 9am psychology didn't go any better. I think I slept and did the head bob for 15 minutes. I believe we were talking about behavior and Freud and sexual theories something something.

I headed to the library after that to study. An hour later I went to meet with my lab teacher to go over some homework. She was conveniently in a meeting then two other students asked her questions so I didn't get to her for an hour. Bleh. I headed home after that and the traffic was insane. I've never seen it so congested on a day like today. They probably had goldfish to feed.

Anyway, I get home and there was a party going on at my house. Kara and her boys were over as was my MIL. After being attacked by my children and trying to catch up with everyone, I realized no one had had lunch. So we picked up the toys and started to throw something together. Trying to feed 4 kids, ages 2 and under is quite the ordeal. I would have never thought to have strawberries and macaroni and cheese together. (Well not together, we did have them one at a time lol.)

Then we had to get ready for an Easter egg hunt that I put on for my apartment complex. It was so much fun! We had 18 kids and over 100 eggs. The girls got a real kick out of picking the eggs up. My oldest was so funny, she would pick one up and then stop. She was content with just one egg until we told her that yes, she could pick up more. It was a big hit, we want to do another one next year.

After the little egg hunt excursion, along with some friends and neighbors, we all went out to my MIL's to see her 11 new baby lambs and their dog. She has a huge backyard, toys, and of course all the animals which the kids loved. My husband and I got into a water fight. He was so mean too. Here I only dumped a little water on him from a cup. Then he got a pitcher of water from his mom and dumped it on me! In front of everyone! Stinker. We stayed probably an hour before coming home.

The girls were wiped so they napped. My oldest's fever came back so she stayed with my dh and I took the baby with me to Kara's house for a BBQ. I love barbecuing, especially with a good friend like Kara. :)

So yes, now I'm beat and need to go to bed. It's been a busy week and I haven't been on much. Tomorrow will be just as busy as we have two more Easter egg hunts and we need to get my husband ready to leave on Sunday. I need to remember to breathe, as my mom would tell me. :)

Planting season

Thanks goes out to Mimo for giving us the great idea to do indoor plants. I actually had never thought about it. But when she brought it up, I thought, "hey, that sounds like a lot of fun!" So that very day we went to Wal-Mart and bought two plants, one tomato and one pot of pink Easter Lilies. Our girls thought it was neatest thing to plant the soil, add seeds, and then give them water. My husband and I were just as excited as they were! We've been watching them now for about a week and the tomato plant has already started to sprout some leaves.

Our oldest has loved waking every morning and checking on the plants. A few days ago she was just so darn excited to see the tomato plant with its leaves that she decided to pick them. More than half! (We had about 16 little sprouts.) *CRY* We were crushed. Our first ever tomato plant had been plowed over by the Toddler Giant. Thankfully we did have a few seeds leftover so hopefully they sprout.

Other than that little disaster, it's been so fun to keep on eye on them. We're not gardeners, but this is pretty darn easy. Cheap too and loads of fun!
