Sugar Cookies - Recipe

My husband found the absolute best sugar cookie recipe that he found from All Recipes! I've never been a big fan of sugar cookies until now. They were such a pain to make, rolling out the dough, cutting the shapes out, rolling out more dough, cutting out more shapes. More time consuming than I wanted and they never tasted very good, so I rarely made them. But these cookies are a breeze and totally delicious! I even like the dough and I don't like sugar cookie dough! My wonderful husband made these again today and I'm in heaven. Yes, I know it won't help me with my running, but I need fuel to study for finals. ;) Here's the recipe if anyone else would like to try them:

Sugar Cookies

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let stand on cookie sheet two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.

Mmm cookies! I'm jealous that he will make cookies lol. Occasionally I can get Nate to make snickerdoodles, but not nearly enough lol.
